As a fan of the Great Baking Show franchise (“Bake Off” in Great Britain) and a vegan, I have set myself the goal of veganizing bakes.
I have found the Junior bakes to be the most attainable and, well, much more fun than the adult bakes. So, I am setting out to veganize the Technical Bakes from Season 9 of the Junior Baking Show (JBO). I plan to do them in order.
Veganized Cartoon Cake
Episode 1 featured Liam Charles’s Cartoon Cake- a peanut butter cake decorated with fondant and royal icing to look like a cartoon animation. I made this for my birthday in 2025, and will soon post more photos, descriptions and recipes for how I veganied the bake, and a video chronicling my process. For now, here is a photo of the completed cake. I am quite pleased with it!
